Brazos Electric is a transmission and distribution cooperative whose members' service territory extends across 68 counties from the Texas Panhandle to Houston. Organized in 1941, Brazos Electric was the first cooperative formed in the Lone Star state for the purpose of generating and supplying electrical power. Today, Brazos Electric provides wholesale power delivery services for its 16 member-owner distribution cooperatives. Owned by its member cooperatives, the Brazos Electric board of directors is comprised of one representative from each of these 16 members.

Brazos Electric is committed to providing valued service to its members and customers by transmitting reliable power at the lowest cost while providing excellent customer service with the highest degree of integrity.
